Will you buy a mag that costs you 27 bucks??

Who can resist the cover of this magazine, right? RIGHT?!

Here I am, staring at two of my fave mags ever : ROCK SOUND. It's an international mag and it costs me a shocking 27 bucks per issue (!!!) Two ma
gs, two of my fave band on cover, Paramore (1st isuue) and Panic at the Disco!!! I get hooked on this mag when I was at a shopping mall. I'm proud to admit that I am a magazine freak. You can ask anybody I know: I buy magazines more than I spend money on clothes. It's a tragic.
Well, move on. I was flipping through some teen mags
(imagine the whole mag was covered by Jonas Brothers!! how pathetic...) I was about to walk away but suddenly, something caught my eyes. A very familiar orange hair girl covered by other magazines. I nearly had a heart attack when I realised it was Hayley Williams!! Yay, Paramore on cover!! When I told my mum I want to buy it, my mum shouted (well, not really shout, but you get the picture...), "Wah, you crazy ah? 27 ringgit? So rich ah? Can buy some clothes already lor!" I just smiled and as though I'm going to listen to her *wink wink*
The second issue (Panic! Panic!), I get it as my birthday present from my sis. We were hanging out at The Borders (God bless that store) and when I found that mag, i was jumping like a pyscho going out of control. Apart from having two of my fave bands on cover, I have to say Rock Sound is a pretty good mag. With their tagline "New Music First", I did discovered a band that i'm crazy over now ; Kill Hannah. Go and check out their songs and if you're a rock addict, do try Rock Sound.
But just remember, it costs 27 bucks...so think more than 10 time
s before buying it. You have been warned. Now, who can tell me where to buy Kerrang! magazine.

Kill Hannah needs love

THE M IS HERE

Ok, I promised myself that I’m not going to whine over and over again why I can’t be in Genting on 2nd August 2008. BUT, IT WAS SO FREAKIN’ UNFAIR!!! Especially when my husband was there!! Well, I will fill in the details who’s my husband later.
For me, it was such a great honour that this year MAA was held in Malaysia. At least, I can feel the distance wasn’t that far. Sad.
I really have to comment about the stage though. It looked so freakin small (although it’s electrical colourful) and the audience! God, really?! It wasn’t full and the artistes just sat BESIDE them?? Maybe it was my eyes or something but it sure did looked small to me.
And the time for awards presentations. Some of the new categories were really unique. And don’t you realize that most of the international acts won at least something?? Hmm… Oh, and it’s totally unfair that Faizal Tahir didn’t win the Favourite Artiste Malaysia. Don’t get me started on that.
And here are my top 3 bombastic moments at the MAA 08 :

3. STAR-STUDDED ROCKIN’ PERFORMANCES

So many stars, so little time. I may get many hate cards after this but I only enjoyed international stars’ performances. Maybe their songs are more familiar? Don’t care. PCD were so smooth and Leona Lewis really did a breathtaking performances. OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder sure had gained a few pounds but his voice is still so divine. The Click Five? Love the Empty version with the Malay kompang and those screaming crowds. The new band from Dublin, The Scripts make me more interest to know about them. And of course, I leave the BEST performance in my number 1.

2. I HAVE JARED LETO FOR BREAKFAST, LUNCH & DINNER (YUM YUM!)

OMG! His eyes are killing me! Jared’s probably the last person on earth I can think of that will be the MAA’s host. Love everything about him and oh ya, Jared, Aku cinta padamu!!! He’s so down-to-earth and laid back. Congrats on the “Video Star” award. His co-host, Karen Mok did a really good job too.
Thanks MTV, for choosing such a delicious host ever, JARED!

And last, but definitely not least…

1. ARRGGHHH, IT’S PANIC AT THE DISCO!!!!!!!!!

I don’t know if I mention it before, but I’m like a HUGEEEEEEEEEEE fan of Panic at the Disco. If you’re wondering who’s my husband is? Ryan Ross, the guitarist. I almost had a serious heart attack when I found out that the boys are coming to town. I promised myself that I will kill myself if I won’t be there. I’m still here so I guess I’m still alive. They won the EDC Style Award and I was jumping and rolling on the floor (please ask my annoyed sister for confirmation). Ryan with his cute little hat even caught Jared’s attention. Oh Ryan darling, I always knew that you can make your own hat.
The boys ended the show with such flair and gusto. I write sins, not tragedies was performed in an excellent tempo and those flower power marching band in Nine in the Afternoon made me want to change into my uniform and marched along. Brendon was so energetic and that boy sure like to shout…a lot! [still drooling] can somebody please pinch me and tell me that the boys really did came to Malaysia after all!!!

Stars that I wish they come (next year, perhaps?) : Paramore (!!!), Fall Out Boy, David Cook, Simple
Plan, Fireflight and Boys Like Girls.
